With Thanksgiving around the corner, Dining Rooms are TOP of mind! If you are hosting Thanksgiving, we can guarantee you are turning a critical eye towards your dining room right now…it’s not too late to make a few updates! It might be as simple as switching out your chairs or table to something more modern or installing a new statement light fixture. Art or a unique wall treatment can also make a huge impact when trying to update a room quickly.
Let’s take a look at a few very differently styled dining rooms we’ve tackled over the past few years!
Speaking of STATEMENT light fixtures…take a look at this beauty!
There is so much to talk about in this eclectic space. Our clients wanted a dining room that was a conversation starter and we GAVE it to them! The light fixture and fabric were the jumping off points in this room and the rest of the design flowed organically since we knew there were no limits. A fun, geometric ceiling treatment, bold painted trim and rich red velvet tufted chairs could keep the guests entertained for a long time!
Shifting gears style wise, but just as interesting and unique, here’s a more traditional dining space. Remember, traditional does NOT have to mean boring!
The real showstopper in this room is the WALLPAPER. Such a beautiful collection of navy, mint, and coral birds! We pulled the beautiful mint color out as an unexpected color to paint the trim and moulding.
And let’s not forget about the intricately tiled fireplace!
This beauty from last week’s reveal post is all about the soft colors and natural light. The vaulted, paneled and whitewashed ceiling is a standout and when paired with simple white shiplap on the walls, it all makes the perfect backdrop for a modern, yet traditional dining setup.
An abundance of windows capitalize on the view and we didn’t want to compete so we used soft natural colors that mimicked the ceiling for the window treatments and chair fabric. The intricate chandelier is the cherry on top in this sophisticated space!
Another classic style used a lot in dining rooms, and in homes in general, is French Country. This style can definitely be overdone, so we went with a SUBTLE and more minimalistic approach! The rustic beams on the ceiling and rounded dining chairs are classic examples of French Country as is the beaded chandelier and cabinet the homeowners already owned. To keep it all in check, we added solid curtains and a muted pattern on the rug.
We love this more casual and funky dining room we finished a few months ago! The wall configuration created just the right amount of space for a long oval dining table and two sides of built-in benches. To finish out the seating, we found the most unique chairs that seemed MEANT for the space. A tassel chandelier and a soft abstract landscape completed the scene.
And here’s one more oldie but goodie to round out a collection of Dining Rooms we’ve worked on!
We hope this inspired you to MIX things up in your own dining room!
