Thanksgiving countdown is ON! We talked through Dining Rooms last week, let’s talk guest rooms today!
Having guests, whether family or friends, seems a little more special during the holidays than other times of the year. You want them to feel welcome and also have a place where they can sneak off to when they need a minute alone that feels HOMEY.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite guest bedrooms, and a few guest bathrooms (!), from the past few years!
Remember this fun room we shared last week?? The peacock theme in this room has just the right amount of whimsy to put a smile on a guest’s face!
{Guest Tip} Make sure to have two nightstands…everyone has a phone they need to plug in at the end of the day or a book they want to set out to read when they need some down time.
We loved creating this pretty pastel guest room! The fun pillows, sweet sentimental artwork, and textured linens all work in tandem to make this space inviting.
{Guest Tip} Curtains are not just for aesthetics! We added bamboo shades PLUS curtains to make sure their guests could sleep in after the sun came up!
This guest room has all the right elements - cozy layered bedding, nightstands and lamps, luxurious curtains, and even a comfy chair as another seating option!
{Guest Tip} Consider swapping out art, such as the wreath over the bed or the small frames over the nightstands in this room, to fall themed or Christmas themed for the holidays!
Another perk of this guest room is the accessible guest bathroom right down the hall! The unique mirror, vanity and floor tile make this bathroom a standout.
{Guest Tip} People forget things when traveling! A handy basket filled with a toothbrush and travel size toothpaste, shampoo and soap will be such a relief to a guest that has traveled a long way and realized they missed packing one or two items.
Consider YOUR needs for a space when thinking about a guest room too! Do you need a space that can double as a sitting area when not being used as a guest room?
If so, a pull out couch is a great option for a guest room. We used a tried and true pull out sofa for this space and still added all the elements a guest would need during the few times a year this family needed to host guests. We made sure the coffee table was easily maneuvered as well (its fairly light) and could double as storage for the bed linens.
And right next door is an incredible guest bath that also doubles as a wet area with access to the pool! Everything a guest needs and everything this family needs is a win win!
{Guest Tip} Flowers can make a guest feel SO special! Head to your local grocery store or florist and grab a bouquet of simple flowers or greenery and fill up a vase for the nightstand or on the counter in the bathroom. A small gesture goes a long way! We also love having a small basket of snacks in the bedroom in case your guest needs a late night treat!
